The CDA Post-marketing Drug Evaluation Program and the Canadian Cancer Real-world Evaluation (CCRE) Platform

A Project of the Real World Evidence Program

The CCRE platform is a multi-province (Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia) collaboration. The mission of the CCRE Platform is to generate Canadian real-world evidence (RWE) that can respond to queries from senior healthcare decision-makers about the safety and effectiveness of post-market oncology therapies.

The CCRE platform will: i) provide timely access to large administrative datasets to generate population-based estimates of measures of safety and effectiveness of oncology therapies; ii) leverage pan-Canadian data to develop comprehensive comparative analyses of oncology therapies to evaluate generalizability and regional variation in the provision of care and outcomes; iii) develop and standardize methodological approaches for generating oncology RWE; and iv) build capacity and develop training for highly qualified personnel in the areas of safety and effectiveness analytics.
