Coming Out in Cancer Care: Understanding Sexual Identity Disclosure Experiences for Young Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Queer Cancer Patients

A Project of the Childhood, Adolescent, and Young Adult Cancer Survivors (CAYACS) Program

The objective of this study is to capture the experiences and health outcomes of lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer and other sexual minority (LGBQ+) cancer adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer survivors. One-to-one semi-structured qualitative interviews will be used to understand the sexual identity disclosure process in cancer care from both an LGBQ+ AYA survivor perspective, as well as a cancer care professional perspective.
